In response to your email...a novel, by Adam Carnes

Hey Michael. In response to your email...

Yes, we can make the logo bigger. This is relative to the width of the blog's header. I made it wider so you could see. If we want to keep the single column layout...which I like...this means that the other elements of the blog will get wider too...which is fine, but you should be aware of two things:

When paragraphs are over, say, 7 words long, people are less likely to read them. Remember in the 90's when you used to open somebody's webpage and and there was text from one side of the screen to the other...its an eye sore.

Even right now, all this crap that I am writing is almost unreadable because it is too much content for a space this wide. The same amount of text broken into narrower paragraphs, like newspaper columns, is a lot easier to look at and easier to read. We can make the logo as wide as the blog but increasing the width of the blog means increasing the width of the paragraphs or adding a sidebar to the side of the blog...I don't especially want to do either of those things.

On the other hand, if we don't plan on writing more than a sentence or two about each post, then its not really an issue. Less is more.

The other thing is that the images have to be wider. Again, not a serious issue most of the time...just be aware that when you are pulling images off of the web they need to be 478 px wide at 72 dpi, or wider, or they will look like shit.

Also...

When you are putting images or video in to a post you will need too resize them with the HTML editor to make them fit right. Here is how you do that:

from the post editor, insert your image > click on the "Edit HTML" tab > find the code that represents your image and delete "height: xxx" > for width, use "width: 478". Google with adjust the height proportionatley.
